The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said that in the National Capital Region (NCR), Ghaziabad and Greater Noida, the AQI was 459 and 452 respectively at 10 am on Saturday and it was 496 at four pm on Friday. The AQI was recorded in the ‘severe’ or ’emergency’ category late on Thursday night in Delhi, the first time since January this year. When AQI is 0–50, it is considered to be in the ‘good’ category. 51-100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 as ‘moderate’, 201-300 as ‘bad’, 301-400 as ‘very poor’, 401-500 as ‘severe’ and above 500 AQI as ‘very serious’. And is considered to be of emergency category.
